Coexisting with the Forest – preserving and understanding it to strengthen our mind and foster good habits

Project Description

The project “Coexisting with the Forest” addresses the lack of a comprehensive tourist offer and limited accessibility of natural experiences for diverse groups. Its main goal is to develop inclusive and sustainable tourism in the Kočevje area.

Within the project:

  • the Srček Forest Cabin will be renovated to serve as an accommodation and educational space for workshops and camps;

  • new hiking and cycling trails will be established, equipped with GPX maps and e-bike rentals;

  • a “Wildlife” programme will be set up for wildlife observation, including a photo hide, binoculars, and thermal cameras;

  • training sessions for guides and workshops for schoolchildren, scouts, seniors, and people with special needs will be carried out.

The project will significantly contribute to preserving natural heritage, promoting ecological awareness, and strengthening social connectedness.
