Osilnica valley is not just a home of fairy-tale hero Peter Klepec, but since a few years also a site of UNESCO natural heritage with Krokar primal forest. On this whole-day hiking trip you will enjoy the beautiful views of Kolpa river, surrounding hills, explore natural sights of this stunning area and walk right on the edge of primal forest.

  • Program

    • In the morning we departure with a van to Kočevska Reka village and further to Osilnica valley. While driving our local guide will explain more about the history of this area. Do you know the tale of Peter Klepec?
    • From the top of Strma Reber pass we will hike to Loška stena in Firštov rep natural reserve where we will enjoy beautiful views. We will make stops every now and then where the guide will explain interesting facts about forest, might chamois that lives in this area and coexistence of people and nature.
    • We will have a forest picnic at Loška stena with cold cuts from local producers.
    • We will continue our hike past Cerk hill (with 1192 m highest hill of Borovška mountain range) to Borovška walkway. Here we will walk just on the edge of Krokar beech primal forest Unesco site in the end stop at the most southern daffodils site Krempa.
    • Return to Kočevje in the late afternoon.
